You might not guess it by the records that tend to grace our pages, but we do love some Neil Young around the Dusty offices. And while we'd like to say it doesn't get much better than this prime mid 70s LP, the old man's delivered so many great recordings over the years that would be a mighty statement indeed. An album that puts classic in "classic rock" though you're not too likely.

Sealed. This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these.

Dec 08,  · Vinyl record cleaning solutions are one of the most highly-debated topics amongst vinyl collectors. The importance of maintaining clean records is undeniable. The benefits are numerous: extending vinyl life, improving playback, preventing needle wear.

The album is allot older than the '97 cd release, late 80s i guess, vinyl era. This album was a success in Europe, "where did I go wrong" was perhaps their second most commercially successful song, "red red whine" (not on this one) being number one. For the non reggae listener this is a great entry album/5(35).

Use only products labelled as a vinyl record cleaner such as the basic and inexpensive DiscWasher cleaner, or use a professional strength record cleaning solution for deep cleaning. As to helping reduce friction while playing records, the Last Record Preservative is an effective and longtime standard of record collectors.

Fortunately, there are plenty of cheaper, manual methods of record cleaning that do a great job. What follows is a broad selection of the different types of Missing: Groove Oil.

Jul 23,  · Furthermore, oil from your hands can eat at the surface of vinyl, bringing the value of a record down. Luckily, a solution is easily had. Follow these guidelines on how to clean vinyl records and you won’t have to fret about dust or fingerprints again. Steps to Clean Vinyl Records. Remove all dust and static using a vinyl record brush.

The mini box set gives you 5 card repro sleeves (the other 2 albums are "The Brothers: Isley" and "Get Into Something" - both from ) with the liner notes downloadable from Sony's website. See separate review. To sum up - "Givin' It Back" is a criminally forgotten release - a ridiculously good album that cries out for rediscovery/5(21).

History of Vinyl Music Records. Early disc music records were made of various materials including hard rubber. From onwards, earlier materials were largely replaced by a rather brittle formula of 25% shellac (a material obtained from the excretion of a southeast Asian beetle), a filler of a cotton compound similar to manila paper, powdered slate, and a small amount of a wax lubricant.
