The Cleopatra issue of The Stooges’ alternate song rehearsals pre and post the Raw Power sessions is a mixed bag with a few great songs and some good performances (not everybody’s performance is good at all times) held back by limited quality sound/5(20).

Recorded in in their hometown of Detroit, the Stooges continue their tradition of raw and wild energy in studio as well on stage. The quartet is composed of the cult Iggy Pop, the Asheton brothers (Ron & Scott) & James Williamson. More IGGY & THE STOOGES IGGY & THE STOOGES - DOUBLE DANGER .

Rehearsing ahead of their first show of , at Detroit's Ford Auditorium in March, the Stooges ran through more or less every new song they had at that point, as a host of deeply posthumous archive albums have demonstrated.
  5. JoJogal says:
Culled from an Olympic studios demo session and rehearsals in Detroit for the band's tour, ‘Move Ass Baby’ runs the gamut from full-fledged, ready-to record tunes to the types of swampy jams that the band has claimed indicative of their studio songwriting process.

the first stooges LP is a brilliant forward looking entity which at the time was derided as amateur playing with delinquent theatrics, a going nowhere disc that would soon be forgotten about was how the record business saw the stooges, a lost cause that had no right in existing as a musical 'pop group' this first outing is raw and untutored, two things that make it a singular waxing any way.

Jan 27,  · Other jewels, however, appeared piecemeal, or hovered just out of reach in the underground. Further London studio sessions in summer Rehearsals in Ypsilanti, Michigan before the Stooges played Detroit in March, More rehearsals in Detroit, later in the spring, and at CBS in New York in July. Even more live recordings.
  9. Nejas says:
The third disc shows an assortment of songs from various rehearsals in Detroit, Michigan from February to April Many of these songs, including "Open Up and Bleed" and "Rubber Legs" were supposedly going to be songs to make up the band's fourth record. Recordings from February 20 and March 11 were not included due to too much tape damage.
