Reviewed in the United States on January 20, The title track, as others have noted, is one of the greatest recordings and vocal performances ever. It took several listens to accept the fact that, even without "Stay With Me," the other tracks on this album do, for the most part, hold their own. Nothing can really compare to Lorraine Ellison's masterpiece, which leads off the album; however, the other 5/5(8).

Ellison recorded "Stay with Me" at a last-minute booking, following a studio cancellation by Frank Sinatra.

The motion picture (entitled The Boat That Rocked in the U.K.) is a comedy that reflects on the real-life bands of illegal radio stations that broadcast from boats just outside British territorial waters in the mid-'60s and were therefore outside the iron.
